What types of gatherings happen at The Undergrowth? How many guests can sleep on the property, and how are the cottages configured?

Accepted Answer

The Undergrowth is ideal for most any type of gathering (private retreat, micro wedding, small conference/offsite, reunion, wellness or digital detox, girls' trip, etc.). We can host up to 20 guests over three individual dwellings:- The Canopy (sleeps 8) - The Fern (sleeps 6) - The Ash (sleeps 6)

Can we cook our own meals, or is catering required?

Though we do offer to arrange catering and meals for you, you are more than welcome to bring in or cook your own meals.

I'm planning an event (retreat, wedding, off-site, etc). Can I invite guests who will not be staying overnight?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, no. Only guests staying on-site overnight may attend your gathering.

What is the atmosphere like at The Undergrowth?

The atmosphere is quiet, private, and nature-immersed. Guests often choose to spend extended time outdoors and engage more fully with their surroundings and fellow guests. Connectivity is limited, supporting a sense of seclusion while remaining accessible for essential needs.

Can we bring our own retreat facilitators or vendors?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Hosts may bring their own facilitators or work with local partners. We are happy to assist with sourcing trusted vendors if desired.

Are meals included with retreats?

Accepted Answer

Meals are available as add-ons through catering partners or may be self-organized depending on the gathering.

Can I tour The Undergrowth before booking?

Absolutely. Reach out to us and we'll be happy to set up a time to give you a tour.

Question 8

I'm planning to visit the area. Can I just rent a single cottage at The Undergrowth?

Accepted Answer

Maybe. We do not allow private rentals mixed in with group stays, but we do open up our individual cottages for private rental when the property isn't already being used by a group.

Question 9

What kind of connectivity is on site?

Accepted Answer

We have intentionally kept connectivity limited. The property supports some, but not all data services. There is wifi available in The Canopy (our central meeting space) common area for all guests to access. There is no wifi available in the cottages.

Question 10

Will there be other people staying on the property during my gathering?

Accepted Answer

No. If you have rented the property for a private gathering of any kind the entirety of the property is reserved for you and your guests only.
