The Undergrowth is a private retreat in Luray, Virginia, created as a space for intentional gathering in nature. Located in Page Valley near Shenandoah National Park, our forest setting supports retreats, corporate offsites, and celebrations that prioritize presence and connection.

Our Mission

We believe natural environments support clarity, healing, creativity, and authentic relationships. The Undergrowth exists to provide a private Virginia woodland setting where gatherings unfold with intention and simplicity, shaped by the people present rather than external pressure.

A Note from Lindi:
Owner and Founder of The Undergrowth

I'm Lindi Jenkins, founder of The Undergrowth — a place I built to offer a different way to gather, and a different way to experience the world around you.

For nearly a decade, my husband owned and operated a 200+ guest wedding venue here in Luray. I'm proud of that chapter, but when the idea for The Undergrowth took root, I knew I wanted to create something different — not a bigger way to celebrate, but a deeper one.

I built The Undergrowth with intention, and my hope is that it draws people who gather with intention, too. Friends, free of distraction. A team, in a setting made for creativity and focus. A family, reconnecting. A few buddies chasing an adventure. A wedding celebration marked by closeness. Or just you, returning to something you've been missing.

Whatever brings you here, may you find peace, focus, and connection.

Come and gather differently at The Undergrowth.

About Lindi

Owner and Founder

Lindi Jenkins was born and raised in Luray, Virginia, tucked into the Shenandoah's Page Valley — a little sub-valley she loves deeply. Even in the seasons of life that took her away, this was the place she longed for.

After several years of school and work that took her away from the valley, she and her husband chose to return to Luray to raise their two girls, giving them the chance to grow up with the same gifts Lindi did: freedom, space, creativity, and nature.

An entrepreneur, mother, and wife, Lindi has always been drawn to the beauty of the natural world. She loves traveling to beautiful places, adventuring in new ones, and rediscovering a trail she first hiked years ago.

She loves community, evident in her love for throwing a great party or gathering people around a table at any opportunity. Some of her favorite things are a good hike, a great cigar, and going on an adventure with her family.

The Name

In a forest, the undergrowth is the layer beneath the canopy where real growth happens. The name represents stepping off well-worn paths, moving with intention, and clearing away what no longer serves. The Undergrowth is where connection and reconnection occur—with nature, others, and ourselves.
